In another question I once mentioned that Google no longer opens on my laptop. It is still like that. I just always use a different browser now, and so far I haven't had any problems with it. But now I have one thing: I created a profile at Testedich and I was sent an email asking me to confirm my profile. But if I click on the link in the email, I would be automatically directed to Google Chrome, but that doesn't work now because it doesn't open anymore. Nothing happens as a result. Is it somehow possible that I can confirm my profile on another browser or is that not possible?
PS: I can only do it on my laptop, as I can't check my e-mails on my cell phone (my mother set that up and she can't change her mind either) …
Right-click on the link in the email and copy the link address, or copy the link from the address bar in Chrome and paste it into another browser.
If you can also set up the other browser as the standard browser, such links will automatically be opened in this one.
There are different possibilities.
The fastest would be this:
Copy the link from your email
Paste it into the address bar of your browser
To fix the problem in the long term:
Press the Windows key
Type "standard apps"
Hit enter
In the web browser, select the browser you want to use.
Thank you
One question: if I have already received the mail and only then set the other browser as the default browser, will the link still open there?
sorry for the stupid question, I just really know my way around
Yes should actually.
You could check that your operating system is up to date. Chrome may open again after a system update.
That doesn't work because Chrome doesn't open. When I click on it, nothing happens.
Ah okay. Maybe it's broken. You can re-download and install Google Chrome: https://www.google.de/...de/chrome/
I would be interested if it works for you.
I will try
