I just installed the "minimal version" of Ubuntu on an old laptop and now I have the problem that my internet connection with this device is EXTREMELY slow… On the cell phone that I have next to it the connection is quite normal… Someone knows What is happening there?
Do you mean Wi-Fi or G4?
Are you sure it's the connection? It could also be due to the poor performance of the PC. To narrow this down, you could do an online speed test and ping your router or server.
Your notebook's WLAN adapter is not working properly. Either it is addressed with an unsuitable driver or some settings are wrong.
Have you ever had a different operating system on it? Did the internet connection speed (what a word!) Go over Wi-Fi?
If not, then it is probably due to the network card or the location of the notebook and not Ubuntu.
If so, then it is probably due to the (pre-installed) driver for your network card.
To check that it is really no other problem, connect the notebook to your router via LAN and test the speed there.
