Hard disk to NTFS format?

I've recently tried my old laptop with the Linux operating system to boot, everything has worked great, only one of the last steps failed, which is why I broke off the whole… (I'm a little unlucky.) Well, then I tried one old windows vista cd to boot, and it also worked again, I set everything in the setup, and then, the question was on what disk it should save… Of course, I had entered my normal, and then clicked "Done", and then was the problem there… I had confirmed during the setup of Linux that I want to reformat the hard drive, because otherwise you could not continue…

And my Windows vista said, the hard drive must be in NTFS format… And an error code that I have already googled, but did not find…

Now I ask you for help, because there's no more Windows Vista support, and would not have helped me…

Delete partition, create new partition, Done.

Why would you want to install Vista, if there's no support for it?

You should start the installation as a new installation (from CD), then go to Format / Setup Disk. There you can then (hopefully) remove the old partitions and set up NTFS again.

If the Linux partitions are not visible, try the Vista command prompt (Computer startup repair) with diskpart, list disks - select disk (number disk)

then list partition and then select partition (the number of the partition to be deleted).

then you can use delete partition override to delete all partitions one after the other (always select the next partition with select partition).

then in Windows Setup select the hard disk, click on New and format and set up the hard drive and format.

depending on the size of the plate then possibly split into 2-3 drives, or all C: leave

Thanks for your answer, but I can't press the button "New" in the setup, and it is highlighted in gray…

Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately I do not quite understand what / how you mean.

You start the Vista (Windows7) installation of DVD.

There you go first to computer repair options. And then open the command prompt.

with diskpart you can then start the partition tool.

in diskpart you use then list disk - select disk
list partition - select partition

then the selected partition is fixed for further options.

then you take delete partition override
this deletes the selected partition.

You will do this for all partitions on this hard disk, unless the disk has a written data partition. Keep this course.

then reboot from DVD, select the computer reinstallation and then re-schedule the hard disk from the hard disk configuration menu. There comes the new Windows on it. Then maybe still install drivers and various programs and set up.

This redistribution of the now empty hard disk is done by Windows during the installation. It then creates its partition C: and possibly other small partitions with recovery functions. Then select the main partition C: and install Windows there

Did you delete the "Linux partition"?

ta

When installing Windows 10, you can delete the Linux partitions and install Windows normally.

But: Whether the laptop will work with all features under Windows 10 depends of course on the driver support and the general performance.

Unfortunately, in Windows Vista generation devices, both are not necessarily given or associated with a lot of search for the drivers.

Wish good luck!
