I can tell you from experience: Don't start playing games like I did a decade ago. There were a few advantages to gaming for me, but you could have experienced or known these if you had never played games. I know even earlier how I wanted a special laptop for school ect. But secretly I wanted Battlefield 3 to run on it.
Before you show your father this comment (what I would do personally, be open and transparent), I would watch this video first in your place:

For example, think about it and get rich from Napoleon Hill or Rich Dad Poor Dad from Robert Kiyosaki or the Cashflow Quadrant etc. He asks you questions about what is in this book and you can answer them that you can then, for example, play for an hour or two.
