Should my parents provide Family Safety (win 10) with a password?

I have activated Family Safety on my new notebook (Windows 10) at the time limit. I want to avoid sitting in front of the box for too long in the evening and getting up overtired the next morning. Actually, that works well too. Unfortunately, I sometimes bypass it. The temptation is just too great. My parents used to protect it with a password. I'm currently considering whether my parents should set the admin password so that I can't bypass it. Unfortunately, I can no longer install any software without your consent.

What's your recommendation? How should I handle it? Is there another trick?

br

Really! Do you know a better program?

gr

Salfeld or Kaspersky Safe Kids is comparatively safe. But of course only if the child to be protected does not have an admin account, otherwise there's always a way to remove the block.

Thanks for the recommendations. I couldn't crack Family Safety until I knew the PW. Of course, I'm not allowed to have admin rights. Should my parents set the PW again? Maybe Salfeld is an alternative. Is there a trial version?

If so, take Salfeld, it's not so easy to get around

I can understand your problem well. I'm in my late twenties and addicted to the internet. I find it difficult to set myself limits in terms of Internet use and to keep them. I've also activated parental controls on my devices so that I don't sit at the computer all night. My usage time is still way too long. FYI: On average, according to Family Safety, I spent 14 hours a day on the PC or smartphone for the last 7 days. I think that's too much - even if professional use is factored in.

The thing is that I manage the passwords for the "parental controls" myself and can therefore give myself extensions.

It would be great if a trustworthy person in my environment could do that. I can't talk to my mother about it. It would be just too uncomfortable for me.

If you can talk to your parents about it and they (temporarily) administer your PC, that's great. I would do it too if my parents were tech savvy.

I will soon have an appointment with the addiction counseling service. I definitely have to cut down on the usage time.

All the best to you!

I also wish you all the best and good luck at the counseling center.

Many Thanks! The appointment is next week.
