Work better with one 40 inch or two 24 inch monitors?

The question is already in the title:

Is it better for a workplace to have a 40 inch single screen or 2 24 inch monitors side by side.

It is mainly about office activities, i.e. WORD, EXCEL (large tables and dashboards), PowerBI, PPT, email, but also sometimes create mockups of how screens should look later (axure). No video editing or anything…

I then often have two documents on (read on the right, type in on the left, so to speak) and also run WEBEX or MS TEAMS and all of this on a laptop with a 22 inch screen at the moment is not sparkling because other resolutions, heights, etc. If I have one Drag table over both screens, then I have a height offset in there. And looking back and forth is rather unergonomic.

For work I would take a 32: 9 or 24: 9 because you can split with Windows.

Prefer 2 24 inch monitors

2 screens make more sense here because you can split them up nicely and if you have opened a lot of documents anyway it looks better.

So I personally never buy two screens again. I would definitely recommend an Ultrawide. The way you need it. I will next buy the Samsung 49-incher. But only when I have moved.

Hi, unfortunately there are only standard monitors from our IT department.

Hi, unfortunately there are only standard monitors from our IT department:-( So I have to choose between the two variants.

I would take the 40 inch in your place. Is that Ultrwide or what is the relationship

Then I would take two 24inches if you get no ultrawide.

With many open windows, you usually get more of it by going wide than going high. If the 40 inch screen does not offer a very high aspect ratio then I would tend to the two 24 inch devices (is also a bit more of the total area)
