99.9% of your laptop has an HDMI output, not an input - so it can't serve as a monitor for an external device.
To remotely control a computer without a monitor, you need a remote desktop connection or ssh access (console only). To set it up, you need a monitor and the knowledge of how to _protect_ a remotely controllable computer - or in-depth knowledge of how to _safe_ set up a remotely controllable operating system or hypervisor on the memory to be installed in advance. Based on your question, I strongly advise against both.
