Call it misfortune or just extreme stupidity, but I made a grave mistake today. Since I have a new laptop, I wanted to reset my old one, an Acer Aspire 7750-G, to factory settings because I wanted to pass it on to a friend.

Convinced that I had the laptop plugged in, so I started and waited until suddenly the screen turned black. I had not pressed the network connector tight enough.

Windows starts, but at some point comes "The configuration of the system could not be completed. Restart the PC to continue the configuration.

This happens every time I restart the thing. On F2 (insyde setup) I also went and tried to adjust that on my win10 stick (had the still of the new laptop) is booted (boot priority order changed), but my Aspire seems to ignore me there simply. Also via the boot menu I arrived there again at the error message.

What do I do now? I want to save the old laptop anyway, but for a workshop I have absolutely no coal currently. Unfortunately, my new laptop does not have a DvD drive to burn.

Is Secure Boot disabled? If enabled, you'll need to set a password to disable it

Thank you for your prompt reply. Where exactly can I set this password? (Insyde> Security? Since I've already set all, but I'm not enumerated as an option Secure Boot at Main)

Fr

Set a password for Insyde> Security Set Supervisor Password and then disable Insyde> Boot Secure Boot

So I have on my Aspire Win7 on it. Anyway, I do not have this option there: / And thus can't disable the Boot Secure Boot.

Then try once the hard drive and format to another PC to format

And then just reinstall Windows
