I have a very simple question, but it may only be easy to answer.
I don't have my PC right now, so I have to use the laptop. Info:
-Acer Aspire E 15
- It says: Better graphic performance (That I don't laugh)
-Is not a gaming laptop
-8GB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce 940MX
The problem with the whole thing is that even in World of Tanks with the graphics setting (MINIMUM) the fan gets really hot and freaks out. How can I improve my performance with the device? Maybe close any applications that you don't need but don't count as "apps"?
You have already noticed that the Acer Aspire E5 was not really intended for gaming. Due to the design, laptops get really hot due to the barely available dimensions. The fan has to fight against this.
Many swear by cooling pads on which the laptop is placed. Blow the air against the laptop floor. Minimal, since the bottom of the laptop is actually mostly airtight.
8GB are no longer so up-to-date. An extra 8GB RAM bar / 16GB RAM kit would bring something in terms of RAM utilization.
The performance increases quite significantly when using an SSD instead of an HDD.
The nVidia GeForce 940MX is "only" a drilled out GeForce 940M, with GDDR5 VRAM of the middle class. It only manages a few games smoothly with a laptop, which is rather unusual at a resolution of 1280x720, at the lowest setting, such as F1 2020, Dirt Rally 2.0, almost Battlefield V, X-Plane 11.11, …
World of Tanks enCore, as well as World of Tanks v8, should run with a medium setting of 1366x768, and with the minimum setting to Full HD. Regardless of the processor and the RAM size.
Should I lower the resolution?
