I have a laptop, the model is above, and I have an HDD and an SSD in it, unfortunately the SSD is nowhere near big enough. I now wanted to know whether I can replace the SSD with a larger 1TB would be ideal (recommendations for an SSD should also be cheap, but should only be used for playing games every now and then). And if that works what do I need? Can I do it myself? If yes how?
If that works with the swap, it would be super nice if someone told me how I do it because the operating system is on the old SSD. And I would like to have to reinstall the programs and if that works.
If that doesn't work, I can do an external one, too, because I would be very grateful for recommendations 😂. Should not need an additional power supply and be 1 TB in size.
It would be great if I could keep the action under a hundred. However, a maximum of 150 euro.
Operating system is Win10
Thank you in advance for your recommendations and your help
So if your operating system is on the SSD it will be a humbuck to transfer it to another hard drive.
1. Do you need to know what kind of SSD is in there (2.5 inch or NVME SSD). NVME SSDs can get expensive quickly.
2. Consider replacing your HDD with an SSD and using your HDD as an external hard drive.
3. Buy an external SSD, I paid about 40 euro from Intenso for a 256GB SSD with a cover from Amazon. For under 150 euro you can also get a 1TB SSD. But as I said, I would rather remove the HDD and slap in the SSD.
It's best to watch YouTube videos on a hard drive exchange and then consider whether you can do that. Basically, you can't break a lot.
You will find the installation and removal on YouTube.
For the transfer I would recommend the EMERGENCY DVD from Computerbild, which is based on LINUX and has no problems with Windoof.
Copy the contents of the old SSD to the HDD, install a new SSD and copy files from the HDD to the new SSD.
Should work like that.
However, Windows must first be deactivated from one hard disk in order to activate the new one.
"Windoof" lol, I really don't understand the hate
