Laptop no longer starts?

I have a laptop from Acer (Windows operating system), it has not switched on for about 2 weeks. It boots up for a long time and then a blue screen appears saying that there was a startup error, error code bad_system_config_info.
The laptop then reboots, but then gets stuck at the "Preparing automatic repair" screen.

Any tips?

The message "BAD_SYSTEM_CONFIG_INFO" almost always indicates an error in the Windows registry.
