I currently have a small problem: I have only 3 Mb / s on my new PC (about 1,500 euro worth) if I install Steam downloads. Recently, however, I have just installed something on my old laptop (about 10 years old, original price: about 500 euro) from my dad, but from the Microsoft shop. Now I had downloaded almost 50 Mb / s there. Generally I have a 50k line from the Telekom. What is the problem?
The problem is, you're mistaking Mbyte for Mbit.
A 50k line at Telekom promises up to 50 mbit / s. 8 mbit / s = 1 mbyte / s
So at 50 mbit / s what the Windows Store displays, you should download with up to 6.25mbytes / s in Steam.
How expensive the computer is, hardly contributes to the matter. How is your PC connected to the router? Wlan through several walls or by cable?
Change times the steam server (top left steam, settings, downloads), may also be because if you classic like gta 5 downloads the servers are always heavily used the download speed goes on the knee. Best to omit all other internet stuff at the time of download
Is that only with Steam?
