Internet too slow though laptop brand new?

For me today was a technician, because I thought that I have Internet malfunction. I've been doing speedtest for quite some time and only get a speed of about 50mbits although I should have 500mbits. The technician had 200 mbits on his old laptop. What can this be? Wi-Fi and LAN is slow. Can I just buy a new network card or do I have to pay attention?
