My AOC 27G2 monitor is not recognized by my laptop via HDMI to Displayport cable?

I bought a monitor (AOC 27G2). This has 2 HDMI and 1x DP.

Now I've bought a DP to HDMI (or HDMI to DP) so that I can also use the 144Hz.

I connected the DP connector to the monitor and the other end HDMI to my laptop.

If I change the resource to DP there's no signal.

I tried HDMI to HDMI and it worked.
