I would be curious about 2 graphics cards in a PC.
Would it be possible, as with laptops, a graphics card for surfing etc. To build the 25-35 watts does not need to be boring? (Although the armortization for 10 watts savings might even outlast me).
It would be great if I could direct the image signal on my current graphics card so as not to plug everything or even more connections to betzten and switch over.
If this setup were e.g. To do with a PowerColor Radeon R5 230 LP? I suppose I can still just use a video card driver efficiently on the system.
Or is this a completely stupid and pointless idea?
I have the following system:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600; ASUS TUF B450 PLUS; G.Skill F4-3000C16-8GISB (slightly overclocked to 2600); RX 580 8GB Power Color Red Dragon V2 (Undervolted and a bit clocked down, but has been running stable for a while); SANDISK ULTRA 3D SSD 512 GB; 1 USB 3.0 card whose name I do not know; an RGB band on the motherboard. And a fractal D. Define R6 C blackout.
The result would be that your PC uses more power. You just have one more card that consumes Idlestrom. And what do you think what graphics cards in idle consume? A 580 consumes about 12 watts in idle.
Yes, I've already thought that alone by the juice needs in which it is installed. MSI Afterburner and the driver says that when surfing and watching movies needs about 25-30 watts.
As you can see how much graphics acceleration is now in browsers and video players. An NVIDIA card would be more efficient.
No, that does not work and would be pointless.
Laptops use the internal graphics card of the CPU (IGPU for short) and only in games this uses the dedicated graphics card.
As far as the 2 graphics cards are concerned, in addition to the high-performance graphics in laptops, the Intel HD iGPU is still in use. Many desktop processors from Intel bring that too. So you can, in the BIOS, the iGPU enable (by default, this is disabled if you connect a proper gpu) then the monitor s.der mainboard connections and the image signal from the graphics card calculate and forward through the iGPU to the monitor. However, this increases the performance of the GPU a bit because in addition to the data for the calculation and the image signal through the PCIe bus must.
In the video Linus Tech tips uses this technique to use a Crypto GPU without display ports to play
Jepp that's true, although I can't build NVidea and AMD and together in a system. (So AMD CPU and NVidea GPU of course, but no dual GPU combination of AMD and NVidea). And then I chose AMD because I got more memory for the same money and that's important to Blender.
That was not how it was germinated. An NVIDIA card would be more efficient here than an AMD card. The 580 is a good card, but unfortunately it's not the most efficient one.
Yes, I thought so but the AMD APU's are unfortunately not quite as important as the AMD CPU's unfortunately.
Which iGPU of his Ryzen 5 2600 should he activate there?!
I've sanded that:-) especially since I have someday calculated for a known even times and can be a total of 10-20 euro a year if you put it generously.
In a 2600 no, I just wanted to communicate that it is possible in principle.
Well, I will not call it that. After all, the best IGPUs on the market, with the UHD Graphics from Intel wipe the floor.
Again something learned, whereby the CPUs of the APUS's are slimmed down. (I'm referring here primarily to the 3400, etc. Put on the architecture of the still good 2000s (have a 2k myself)
