Hello there's a method on the desktop as well as on the laptop to control the graphics cards so that the gtx 1060 goes into energy saving mode for me somewhat like the laptop that I can then only use the gt710 that I have installed for the desktop I know that it actually makes no sense but the less electricity is used, the better for cooling and the less the electricity then costs
The Gtx1060 doesn't use anything up to 10W when idle.
It is probably even counterproductive to add a card because both are supplied and the gt710 also consumes its idle.
I actually only have the gt 710 as a render gpu inside and as a display adapter, since I also render videos that render with the gpu and render videos then also on the power consumption of the gpu, which is why I only installed the gt 710 for rendering is because with a game I have what is still in beta the 120W which is standard moderate max is quickly achieved with the VPU even faster since as far as I know the VPU or the video processor does not have its own power supply
