Today I dismantled my 7 year old Asus laptop and replaced the conductive paste (admittedly not very clean, because the structure is modest). After that, I started a game and then I noticed that the laptop is hot but the fan stays in soft mode and does not start up. Of course, it crashes after about 10 minutes (think overheating) and after 5 min. He goes back to.
Is it because of a plug that is not sitting properly or have I damaged the motherboard irreversible?
1. Check if the cable is properly inside.
2. I'll tell you only if you have made number one.
Have it disassembled and now it seems to work again. My guess was the same, only it is a laptop and out of laziness I preferred to ask vother.
