Why freezt laptop while playing?

I have a new Asus FX553VE with 16GB RAM, Girlfriend 1050 Ti, i7-7700 HQ, Win10Pro.

I can run liquid games like FarCry3,4,5; Cold Waters, Two Point Hospital, etc. Play.

But it often happens that I have a complete freeze for about 2-3 seconds and then everything works optimally again. The laptop really freezes completely. Before and after, no lags.

I imagine it always coincides with the output of a sound.

Example:

I'm shooting a torpedo at Cold Waters. In the moment the torpedo is out, I have the freeze… After two seconds, the PC runs again at the same time with the sound output that the torpedo was fired.

Same with Two Point Hospital. The game runs smoothly, then the freeze… After 2-3 seconds the game runs again at the same time as a hospital announcement.

Does anyone have advice?

Many Thanks

PS: Drivers are as far as Asus allows it.

Overheating?

Download Coretemp and gpuz, and check CPU and GPU temperatures. Also, the load of the hard disk in Task Manager, I would look at me.

Only with certain sound reproductions?

Often the hard drive is responsible for something like that, but you should not generalize that, of course. If the laptop is new and the processor has enough power, then the hard drive and its enormous access times can be responsible for such freezes. Often this happens in my experience in connection with only one hard drive on which the operating system and the game are installed. If then the memory is insufficient to cache all relevant data of the program for the processor which is also outsourced to this one hard disk. As a result, she is overwhelmed with the 3 tasks and it comes to these freezes. Remedy if it is: buy an external and fast USB3.0 hard drive and install the games there.

I mean with my old cpu cooler I had many problems (CPU @ 93 ° C)

Win10 is on SSD, games are partly on SSD (if it loads a lot, eg Gost recon Wildlands) otherwise on HDD. I have here Enegiesparfunktionen suspected…

Ba

I will try, thank you…

Ba

Tried! At Twopoint Hospital, I get max 88 ° with an average of 50% CPU load. The fan is in automatic mode.

When I set from Automatic to Max., The temperature drops to 70 ° C.

I'll see if it makes a difference when playing.

Fr

So 88 ° at 50% utilization I personally find quite a lot…

In fact, it is questionable if you say that the games are otherwise on the HDD and the system on the SSD should not necessarily be the problem. It could be a driver problem or a problem with Windows, but personally I consider both unlikely. I'll read to the CPU again, maybe there's something else to learn.

I have now a third hard drive, or SSD installed from my leftovers.

In the laptop is now the Win10 system on SSD1, the data (movies, pictures, etc.) on HDD1 and the games on SSD2. The problem is barely noticeable. I probably only notice it because I know it was there.

It was probably not overheating. It was probably the hard drive… See above.
