Have thought about my PC to exchange for a laptop (the Asus ROG gl502VM) Now the question: Could I use my 120hz monitor only via DVI somehow connected with an adapter or similar and the laptop to get the 120hz?
as said Asus ROG gl502VM
I would be very happy about any help!
DVI only until 1980 x 1200 at 60Hz… So no. - but how can the 120Hz screen only have DVi?
HDMI or DP would be your choice!
EDIT: How many pins do you have?
24 + 1 goes to Full HD x 144Hz
If the general can go you can connect synonymous with no problems on a (24 + 1 pin) plug.
And what if I would convert the monitor to 1280x720? Play anyway on the resolution
Why do you limit yourself voluntarily to 720p, although your monitor apparently makes 1080p?
What the notebook needs for this is a video output ala DVI DL or HDMI 1.4, best display port 1.2. You can also use Adpater from DVI on xxx. Since you have to look through the manual.
As it looks like the one has HDMI and mini display port output. With the right cable and a Nvidia driver should work with the 120 Hz

This port allows you to connect your notebook PC to an external display. So, if the monitor only has DVI D, you would need a DVI-D (dual layer) to mini display port adapter.

The HDMI is input, as far as I read that.
