Windows 10 4 TB hard drive recovery possible?

I wanted to reformat my laptop's hard drive on my PC using an adapter. Unfortunately I accidentally got my 4TB hard drive and clicked Format. I had noticed it after a moment, but now the access is missing. The hard drive was estimated to contain 1.3TB of data. Since this was only used for games mainly as a storage folder for the corresponding libraries, it was a bit annoying but I still hope that the data can be restored without additional formatting. Now you can google for zich software solutions, some of which are not exactly cheap. Hence the question, what would be recommended in this case and with which program could you quickly restore the data so that the relevant references are available again? I'm currently trying out TestDisk, but given the data size mentioned it takes a long time for different programs either way, but in my view it would make more sense than to download everything individually again. Hope someone can still help how to do something there.

That the restoration takes, unfortunately. I can still recommend EaseU's data recovery. Here you can find different folders: graphics, audio, video, etc

select to restore.

Thanks for the information. I think I'll try EaseUs again. Indeed. If you want to restore it, did I read that the Pro version or something like that costs around 70 euro? Because with a little over 1TB of data there's a lot that can probably not be done with the free version.

I was just surprised that so far it has found data with which I couldn't really do anything. I mainly used the hard drive as a storage folder for Uplay and Steam, because you need a lot of space for something like that. Not dramatic in itself, but a little annoying, in order to download it again, etc. Even a backup would only be of limited use to these game libraries, as this would be enormously huge. Fortunately, I had the launcher from the programs on another hard drive so that I still had access. What is missing is the link. Since I alone have 2 games that already need over 150GB, even a 1TB hardly makes sense for something like that these days. Hence the 4TB. However, next time I'll be a bit more careful when formatting:-)
