Old laptop as a 2nd monitor?

I have an old laptop that isn't completely rubbish, but it's not really strong either.

But it is still running but it always takes a certain amount of time to open any programs

That's why I thought I would somehow use the aks 2m monitor or something.

I tried that with hdmi or vdi but somehow didn't work so my question is how can you do it without a program because it won't run smoothly

How can you use it as a 2nd monitor or what else is useful that you could do with it

It is not possible to do that.

That is not easily possible. Such a laptop doesn't have the hardware for it.

Sometimes you get boards like this. That works with them.

You can connect it directly to the panel.

Below is a list of those that are compatible with this model. But you have to expand the panel first and see what kind of one it is.

You can, for example, install the free Cloudready operating system on it. This is an adapted Chrome OS that turns any device into a Chromebook. Here is the download: http://www.neverware.com/freedownload You need the USB Maker and an empty formatted stick.

Then boot the stick on the laptop and follow the instructions of the wizard. He completely erases the hard drive and then installs Cloudready. A restart takes place after the installation is complete. Then the initial setup wizard appears. Simply log in there with your Google account. Now your "Chromebook" is ready. In the settings in the Media Plugins section, you can install proprietary codecs with just one click. The Widevine DRM component is also installed at the same time. Then you can use e.g. Maxdome, netflix, Amazon Video etc.

Cloudready goes like a rocket even on devices over 10 years old. The browser starts without delay.

All updates run fully automatically in the background.

The only thing that doesn't work yet is Android apps. This is currently being worked on.
