We switched from 1&1 to 02 a few weeks ago. When I switched on my PC for 2 weeks today, the LAN cable was not recognized. I then tested the whole thing on my laptop and the PS4, but it failed.
Can it really be due to the router / provider? If so, what can I do?
If you still need information, just write it in, I don't know much.
Is the current router suitable for your new connection (speed), verification protocol?
If she was too old, you wouldn't even get a registration.
It won't really be because of the provider, rather because of the box.
There are no WLAN providers, there are only DSL providers either via copper or (TV) cable.
Wi-Fi is a function of the router when built in.
How can I tell whether the new router is suitable?
Ah, so you got a new router from O2, then it is suitable. Then you have to go to the router website and turn on the Wi-Fi and assign a password.

With the LAN cable that should work directly. Not with WLAN, because it is usually not activated (is not a good idea if your neighbor administers you)
your PC needs DHCP, otherwise it won't see the BOx
The WLAN has been set up for 2 weeks and works perfectly. The Fritzbox router is also relatively new. Only the LAN cable is not recognized by the end devices. It's not the cable itself, because I've already used a new one.
Then look at the end device whether there's DHCP set in the network card (with such old devices someone could have entered a fixed IP)
and actually you shouldn't have a MAC fuse inside. (i.e. Only known devices get access)
Thanks, I'll test it out tomorrow.
Let's hope that you are lucky, otherwise you have to look further.
