How can I connect a LAN cable to my laptop without a LAN port?

The WLAN connection from my laptop has been very prone to interference lately. I would therefore like to get Internet over a LAN cable (I think it also means Ethernet). Unfortunately, my laptop does not have a LAN connection. My laptop has an HDMI connection and a USB connection.

I heard that you can take a normal LAN cable and connect it to the laptop with an adapter. Is this right?

I would like to know what is the best way (best Internet connection) or which of the following works at all: Should I buy a LAN cable and an adapter that I can plug the LAN cable into the HDMI port? Or an adapter to plug the LAN cable into the USB port? How do I even know if my laptop is Ethernet over HDMI (HEC compatible)? (According to Google, that seems to be important.) Or would it perhaps be best to take an internet-enabled HDMI cable and buy an adapter for the LAN connection on the router (if there's one)? Will any of these connections pose a threat to my laptop?

So not all questions have to be answered, I just want to know what is the best connection and why? What do I have to buy for it? And what do I have to consider with the products? In the case of a LAN-HDMI adapter on Amazon, it said that it would not be suitable for direct connection to the router. Confused as to whether that would be suitable for my case.

For such cases there's a USB LAN adapter or a docking station

Wa

There are USB adapters, but it is also important that you take a USB connection that is fast enough or as fast as your internet line.

It doesn't make sense, but it just sounds cool.
