NAS does not appear on the network, Win 10?

I realized a NAS with a Raspberry Pi and Open Media Vault to stream movies. Samba is enabled in OMV, the Windows 7 Pc NAS appears on the network, but not on the laptop running Win 10.

All other printers, TV, etc. Appear. What is wrong?

Take a look at what your network is on Windows 10. I have often experienced that the network is by default a public network, which blocks the configuration of many network services. 🙂

Dr

Sorry I take it back. I suspect your NAS still uses the SMB1 protocol. This has been blocked for security reasons under Windows 10. To activate the support for it you have to activate the feature SMB 1.0 client and restart the computer. 🙂

Settings → Manage Apps → Windows Features

Qnap network disks have software called Qnapfinder, which makes the NAS visible. Possibly. Is there a corresponding also for other makes. Whether they differ, I do not know.

In the more recent version of Windows 10, the long-outdated SMB1 protocol has been disabled because of the extreme security vulnerabilities.

If you still need it, you can re-enable it as an optional feature, but it disables itself after some time of un-use again, if I'm properly informed.

Has worked thank you.

Mi

That was the problem, thanks.
