Do you know fun casual games for a low end laptop? It should run on my lappi i.e. I have a lot of RAM, probably a good processor and a bad graphics chip.
Strategy games are most likely a good choice. It doesn't matter whether it's a build-up or a war game. Best free or cheap on Steam. (Or a "legal" free download on the Internet).
For my part, I would recommend the open source clone of "Tansport Tycoon Deluxe". The demands on the computer are quite minimal and, despite the fact that it is very old, it is a sophisticated economic simulation that deals with the transport of goods and people by water, on land and in the air.
I would definitely give it a try. In any case, it is a lot of fun for me.

All the best,

The Tenth Man
Stronghold 2
Age of Empire 3
Empire Earth 3
Battle for Middle Earth 1 and 2
Ruler of Olympus - Zeus
Clearly Command and Conquer, there's no other strategy game… Not even close!
Anno 1404 e.g.
I would add stronghold 1, crusader, crusader 2 and legend
For little money you can get many titles on gog.com, which are a bit older but are designed to run with newer systems. The only downside I noticed is that the games are mostly only in English.
In terms of gameplay myself, I would say Total Annihilation or Command & Conquer recommend.
