Microsoft Office prof 2010 and standard?

I have a laptop VSony Vaio VCPSB with Win10 prof 64 bit.

After installing the new update in 2004, Word displayed two versions of Office with the help: 2010 prof and Standard. The display for standard was highlighted in red and I had to enter a key again.

I once inserted a screenshot.

Microsoft Office prof 2010 and standard

I have often helped others install Office, but it has never happened before.

Can I leave it that way? Is that normal?

Al

When updating Win. Vers. 2004 it may well be that by switching the KMS Activation Server it is necessary to activate some Office products.
Currently you can see that your product is activated.

Think of Microsoft's KMS server as follows:

A server that continuously checks the activation of the products has moved to the new Windows Update. Therefore the activation is necessary anew.

Thank you for your help. But one question remains: Why do I need both versions of Office 2010. Isn't that a question of either Standard or Professional plus? And what would both versions be good for in parallel?

Al

Professional Plus includes standard. Both products are activated when Professional is activated. Professional is complementary. You can see which products Professional has in addition.

Fa

OK. It is helpful and I confess that I have never looked so closely. The standard version would be enough for me. Can I delete the Prof Plus version?

Al

You can uninstall individual elements of the Office series individually →
Programs → Remove or Uninstall → e.g. Outlook etc.

You now have a full license, you can't take it out of the license, but you don't have to install the unwanted programs either.

It worked. Thank you very much. Thanks to your clear answers, I've become a bit smarter again.
