I have worked on a picture (with the program Paint Tool Sai) and out of nowhere the screen became black, the laptop itself is still working.

Do you see through a LED on the power switch whether the Läppi is still on? If yes and the monitor is broken (possibly the connection cable torn) make Ctrl + S or the memory combination that you know.
