Broken sound card (probably not a driver problem!)?

One day after I installed a Windows update (but don't know if it is related to the Windows update), I was told that no speakers or headphones were connected, but that although I always have a speaker (because I have the Surface Laptop 3) or headphones connected. These devices were not even displayed to me in the device manager.

I suspected the sound card when I wanted to start GTA San Andreas, but couldn't because I was told that the game could not find a sound card.

The funny thing is also that I can't change the volume.

The Windows error diagnosis doesn't work either and of course I've restarted the PC umpteen times.

I've had the problem for a week now and have no idea what to do now. Can you help me?

Mi

Sound card broken - I would say too.

Ok do you happen to know what to do there, i still have a guarantee i think. (→ send in?) But what I don't understand is how the sound card should have broken, it really happened from one day to the next, in the truest sense of the word
