I have an Intel Core i5 3xxxx in my laptop and I can call up the interface with a right click on the desktop and adjust the aspect ratios and colors.
Why don't I have this on my PC with an Intel Core i3 540? Although all drivers are updated.
Could it be because the monitor is connected to the graphics card?
Could it be because the monitor is connected to the graphics card?
But if I connect the monitor to the mainboard, will games still run on the GraKa?
No.
If you connect the monitor to the graphics output of the mainboard, you won't see anything at first.
As long as there's a graphics card in the computer, the BIOS thinks you don't need the integrated processor graphics and deactivates it.
How can I avoid that?
Go to the BIOS and switch off this automatism.
With most intel chipsets, this means: IGP Multi Monitor Support.
Thank you, I'll try it out later.
The next time you restart, the integrated graphics will not be switched off and Windows will install the driver for the iGP.
From then on you can also operate your display on the IGP.
But this only makes sense if you want to operate more display than your graphics card offers connections or if the IGP is faster than the dedicated graphics card.
Which is seldom the case.
When restarting, connect monitor to IGP?
Depends on what you set in the BIOS.
The options are: IGP off / on / auto
But if I set the NVidia settings that the game should use the GraKa, then it makes no difference when playing, does it?
