I wanted to get a new setup on Black Friday because I only have one laptop so far. And I asked myself whether a 1080p monitor is enough or 1440p is better. I mainly want to play and cut videos with it. My pc will be:
AMD Ryzen 9 3900x
32gb ram
Rtx 3070
It depends on how big the monitor is. From 24 inches I would take the higher one.
Is exactly 24 inches
Well, we can't really answer that question.
whether a 1080p monitor is enough or 1440p is better
1440p is of course better. But you know that. Whether 1080p is enough for you depends on whether it's enough for you. For larger screens, I would prefer to use 1440p. And if you don't have a low budget limit now, a higher resolution is always worthwhile.
With this setup I would definitely use 1440p.
You will easily have 80 FPS on high settings in most games.
It depends a little on what you are doing and how far the screen is away from you. I myself have a 27er with 1080p on my desk and the resolution is still good enough for me. I would say if you do image editing or cad, then go for the higher resolution.
So it's okay with 24 inches. It depends on how expensive the better one is. I got a Samsung part with 24 inch 1080p and 2ms for 110 euro on Amazon. The part has been more than sufficient for the ps4 for a year.
But if the price difference is not astronomical, then I would choose the better one.
At 24 inches it doesn't really matter. Would just take 1080p. You probably won't get the 3070 anyway. As Jensen Huang said (which I have been writing for 2 weeks): Broad availability can be expected in Q1 2021.
OK thanks
