Qualcomm Atheros AR956x WLAN adapter no longer works?

After I reinstalled Windows 10 on my Alienware 15 R1 due to system errors, I can no longer get the WLAN adapter to work, no matter which driver I try to install (or Windows itself) WLAN does not work and the device manager says "This device has been stopped, because it reported errors. (Code 43) "I have to say that it worked perfectly before the new installation, but was the Windows installation by Dell.

Under Driver files I see two files, both in the Drivers folder in System32, athw10x.sy & vwifibus.sys if this information helps.

I'm really desperate right now because I'm totally dependent on this notebook in school and I also need the WLAN function, logically I could switch to a USB, but it's not the yellow of the egg.

I really hope someone here can have mercy on me and have a solution.

First of all, many thanks to everyone who at least tries.

Here is a picture of what Windows shows:

Don't fret for a long time, get a dual band Wi-Fi 6 stick or card, so you can get in anywhere.

Qualcomm Atheros AR956x WLAN adapter no longer works?

Latest driver for 64 bit Windows 10 … The official website no longer exists & Qualkomm (as owner of Atheros) does not offer a download for private customers…

Unofficial downloads:

or https://drivers.windows10download.com/w10-qualcomm-atheros-ar956x-wifi-adapter-driver-10-0-0-328-for-windows-10-64-bit-wubjr/

If necessary, delete the device and restart the PC

Use Windows Update via LAN cable

I have now tried everything and unfortunately the problem persists, I even reinstalled Windows.

I just can't imagine that now she's dead just because I have reinstalled Windows…

It is also strange that it worked perfectly on the previous installation and never caused any problems.

Unfortunately, this is not an option since I already have few USB connections and do not want to have to stick the adapter or Nen Wi-Fi Stick on the notebook all the time, it must also be said that I'm dependent on mobility.

If this were a stationary computer it would of course be clear that I would solve the problem like this, but in my situation it is rather impractical and annoying.

Well, there are versions that look 5mm from the port, so please

You can of course howl in the forums like the many other disappointed users of your onboard adapter, only you will not change anything. Sorry

Have fun and google

Yes, I unfortunately had to discover that too by now… Did not contribute to my good mood.

But I have the idea of replacing the WLAN card with a better one that also fits this slot, do you have any suggestions as to what a good WLAN card would be or which providers are good?

Ma

So in the nano area (short stick) it seems quite good

I have the intel ax200, it works really well, but it is only available as an m.2 card.

I had limited the fritzbox's Wi-Fi performance to 10%, no failure, nothing.

Funny…

boot a Linux LIVE-DVD / USB e.g. Linux mint Cinnamon https://www.linuxmint.com/download.php

If it works then it is 100% Windows / drivers
