I wanted to buy a new laptop and decided on the Dell model. I get the notebook for a great price but the memory or ram is a bit low for me. I wanted to ask you if you can upgrade the good piece. I've already watched a few videos but I'm afraid that it won't work.
here is the video which shows that an upgrade is possible:
for the SSD I would have a budget of 100 [+ - 10 euro] 512GB would be best
I have no idea for the RAM, because I don't know which one should fit in there. I need 16 GB
I would sell the "old" parts, so if anyone can show me a good SSD or RAM, he / she can have the old RAM or SSD plus additional payment (if interested)
SSDs can always be exchanged, unfortunately the manufacturers can / do not want to install bottom flaps on the ultra-thin notebooks because of memory changes.
Attention: The working memory can no longer be changed (glued on), so order max. As a rule, 16 GB is the end.
Gives 1TB nvme SSD's for ~ 100-110 euro
You can easily change the RAM.
But does the man change that in the video?
The ram is called SO-DIMM DDR4 … I guess here are no longer possible like 2666mhz
a NVMe SSD is installed as a hard drive… I guess all common models are possible, as long as the bios does not spoil the calculation
eg:

or as a kit with 2 modules is better
Yes, you need 2667mhz sodimm ddr in dual channel (i.e. 2x8GB)
Do you think everything fits in this model here?:

Physically yes… I can't say whether the software has anything against it… With today's devices you have to reckon with everyone… But I think 90% of it should work:-)
According to this page, it should be possible to install up to 64GB RAM, since I want to use the PC for a long time, it would certainly be smarter to take the 16er kit, right?:

With the Dell XPS 15 (7590) you could even upgrade the RAM to a maximum of 32GB (possibly even to 64GB) in 2 slots. 16GB should be enough at the moment, but it depends on what exactly you want to do with the notebook. More specifically, you would need DDR4 2666MHz SODIMM RAM for this notebook. Basically, every 2.5 "drive should fit in your laptop.
When it comes to pure work, 16gb will be sufficient for a long time, depending on the software, of course… You can also put in 2x 16gb to expand directly… It's not really that expensive
At DELL it is quite common to be able to remove the entire underside after removing a few screws. Only with the 13 "XPS that is no longer possible.
With the 15 "models, on the other hand, nothing is glued. You can replace everything yourself. (RAM / SSD / battery / WLAN card)
Unfortunately, the guys from cyberport set the price at 1501 euro instead of the previous 1250 euro. Too bad. Now the purchase is no longer worth it or how do you see it?
Is already a decent price… For the money you can also look around at the end at Apple, if that is an option?
Apple has a very bad keyboard, the rest is so-so but thanks for your answers!
