Since my laptop microphone is not that good, I bought a headset with a microphone. However, my laptop only has a jack socket, not a microphone. So can I use the microphone on my headset or do I have to rely on the microphone in the laptop? And if the problem can be solved, how?
You need an adapter that brings both plugs of the headset back together to one connection.

A Hp Pavilion 15 cw1xxx, the problem is that the plug fits, but I only have audio playback, no microphone

i would say the plug on the headset does not fit. Or you put it in the wrong way, not deep enough. I've seen that before. Press a little to see if it clicks into place again.
