I recently sold my old laptop. When I was picked up, I was asked whether I still had the CD or a key for Windows. Windows 10 was already installed on the laptop when I bought it new.
It is already installed on my new PC. It seemed a bit strange to the buyer, but I personally don't know myself too well either.
So my question is whether you still need CDs or a key to own Windows.
If Windows was installed, Windows is still on it now. Key should be activated if you bought it in the shop!
No, you acquire the license for the software when you buy the device.
With pre-installed operating systems, the key is often on a sticker on the housing.
If Windows is already installed, you can also read it out.
Windows 10 actually not. After activating the Win10, a hardware code was sent to Microsoft. This recognizes the hardware again and again "if it has not been changed too much" and automatically activates the Windows online.
Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to know:-)
