Change mainboard. Can Win 7 Key be used for Win 10?

At the weekend I have to change the mainboard. Although the socket remains the same (LGA1150) I can't overclock with my B85 chipset and a few other reasons…

In Windows key because I use is an ancient Windows 7 key from 2012 from my first laptop. At some point it was junk and then a new PC can be used because I used the key again.

At the end of 2017 I was forced to upgrade to Windows 10 due to my new GTX 1070 TI graphics card because the 1070ti had problems with Windows 7 with DirectX12. So I did the free upgrade, since then I have Windows 10.

Now you say that if you change the entire mainboard it is better to reinstall Windows because of drivers and such. In general, Windows should now be installed on an M.2 SSD instead of an HDD. I would deactivate the current Windows key before the actual MB change.

Can I use the Win 7 Key again for activation when installing Win 10? Or do I first have to activate Install Win 7 and then upgrade to Win 10?

Does anyone have any idea how it is?

Would trigger the key with Jellybean Key Finder and then deactivate it. I don't know how it is with the update.

So install windows 7 and then upgrade to Windows 10 again?

That's exactly what I was going to do. Then deactivate read out beforehand. Otherwise it would have gone stupid.
