No sound - Pioneer DDj 400?

I received my DDJ 400 yesterday and of course wanted to get started right away. Attached was a license key for Rekordbox.

Now there are problems with the audio setting. I have no external speakers and wanted to use my laptop speakers (Windows 10) so that the master output runs over the PC speakers. I have already activated the button in the program in Performance mode, which is to the left of the settings, which ensures that you can hear the sound via the PC sound card. But that doesn't work either.

I have already operated the controls and switches. As soon as the controller is on my laptop, I can no longer play any sound at all.

It is best to use an external interface. Similar to Native Instruments TRAKTOR Audio 2 MK2
Always advantageous with a Windows laptop.

Does something come through headphones? If you connect some to the Pioneer, I mean.

ro

No, there's nothing.

Dr

Is your fader on the channel you are currently playing?

ro

Ok, I have now managed to hear the sound through my laptop speakers. Now I still have the problem that the headphones are not working.

Dr

You may not be able to use two sound cards at the same time. So the one in the notebook and the one in the desk. But only either or.

And you need two different independently controllable stereo outputs.

ro

Could the problem be solved by connecting external speakers? Sorry, I'm still brand new and, as you can easily see, I have little bearing.

Dr

That's usually the plan, yes.

You could also do a trick if the worst comes to the worst and lead a cable from the desk's outputs back to the notebook and then put the signal there on the speakers.

But if you only have one socket on the notebook, you would need a Y adapter.

ro

All right, then I'll give it a try!
