I bought a new laptop (Acer Aspire 5) and wanted to try out my ddj 400 with a record box. I downloaded the program, installed it, and signed in with my account.
I connected the controller to the laptop and the device was shown as ready for use. Then I started Rekordbox and went to the audio settings. The DDJ is not displayed here. I'm under the Windows sound settings of the DDJ 400 is also displayed there… I then wanted to download the firmware, but this can't be downloaded, only the firmware update. I updated the firmware and still nothing happened. Exactly the same problems. I then reinstalled the drivers from the sound card (Realtek). Unfortunately it still doesn't work. When I connect the DDJ everything lights up briefly and then only the release FX button lights up in blue and the hot cue button in red. After a while the DDJ changes and lights up several times over the entire controller, but is then interrupted by pressing a button and only the FX button lights up again.
The fact that the controller lights up completely when switched on is correct and should show that all lights are working. That it starts to glow again after a while is just as normal and something like a screen saver. This "screen saver" switches off again when a control element is actuated. So everything is normal up to here.
The controller would not work at all without firmware. So it is correct that you can only download and install a firmware update.
I would have shut down the computer again after the installation. Then plug in the controller and restart the computer. Then start Rekordbox.
It often happens that an anti-virus program or a firewall prevents the connection to the controller. If in doubt, try it again.
i have the exact same problem with my brand new acer A5. The DDJ 400 works on other computer (HP) with no problem. For some reason it seems Acer A5 does not recognise the unit - however it is showing in device manager under sound devices
I'll try the firewall again. I really can't explain the problem any other way.
Has your problem been resolved? I have the same problem.
No unfortunately it didn't work.
I solved the problem. I still had some updates from Windows and from drivers in the update manager that I overlooked. Everything worked perfectly after the update.
Doesn't work for me either. At least it says there are no updates. The laptop is also new and nothing else is installed. I do not get it.
