Usb type C transfer from laptop to pc?

I'm on the laptop NEN type C and the mainboard of my pc nen type C connection.

Can't I plug a male cable on both sides for mutual transfer?

who is supposed to recognize whom as what? Only a cable in between is not possible. Since one end does not know who the other end is. And what you can do with it.
is not just a laptop driver for the PC or a PC driver for the laptop. Likewise, no hard disk driver.

because you somehow need an active adapter that addresses the two devices as a kind of network device and managed the communication between the two.
