Speaker dead?

My speakers on the laptop are dead.

But when I open or close the laptop, the sound is there for a second.

What can i do there?

Check the sound settings in the control panel. Possibly The device tries to play the sound on another device

Possibly a broken wire or a cold solder joint. Try to connect to an audio system or PC speakers with a jack plug cable. The sound is much better.
