I'm still in education and at vocational school my teachers use such a surface part, even a few students, and that always looks so practical. I always bring my 15 "laptop and a thousand worksheets with me and I think - why not such a tablet / laptop 2in1 part which is super light and compact - with pen input? We have most of the digital there, and with the pen and OneNote I can yes also write everything digitally and always have ready and organize nicely.

Since I may want to study media computer science, or computer science with a focus on media / design, I think so much the better part?

But I also know that the parts are pretty expensive… I just wanted to ask you what you think about these things and if you would recommend one to me - and if in reality it really is as practical as it seems. Maybe you have gained experience with it?

My notebook is a 14 incher and weighs about 1.5kg, the battery is enough for the whole day. A great part, but such a surface looks much lighter and more compact. And more than PDF's look, Office, surfing the Internet and code I do not do it anyway.

I think about the acquisition, because my mother wants to buy a new notebook anyway, because I can leave her mine and get me such a Surface Part. Was I there for max. 1000 euro already something reasonable?

Get a used Surface Pro 2 for 250 euro

That's definitely worth it. With OneNote for all notes and Drawboard for working through PDFs, you have a paperless, tidy office instead of paperwork. Especially with OneNote all your devices sync across systems, which is sometimes very useful when only the smartphone is available.

There are studies that show that you can memorize handwritten much better than keyboard. Especially when you're in training, so another benefit that speaks for the Surface.

The Pro 6 is always cheaper. At Saturn in BS, e.g. With keyboard, pen and Office 365 for 888 Euro (i5, 128GB, 8GB RAM). Similar offers are available regionally every now and then. On the go, this version is always enough. If you want more for your home, buy the Surface Dock and connect your possibly available HDD, or a big monitor, DVD etc.

Exterm well, incidentally, is the integrated manuscript field, which translates your manuscript in print.

I can only recommend the device, it makes work a lot easier and even fun.

Many thanks for the answer! Can you recommend me as a random model, and whether the extra cost is worth? Since I still have a powerful PC at home, need for Office, PDF's and surfing not the most expensive model, I think. I think the i5 and 8GB Ram model should be enough. I'm just wondering if the 128GB are enough.

Sorry, just seen.

The 128 GB are usually absolutely sufficient. Especially since yes, e.g. Also with a 400 GB Sandisk Extreme Pro MicroSD can increase. Or you can use the TB memory, which you often get for free with the Office 365 for a year. Since the 128 GB version with 8 GB and no longer only with 4 GB of RAM, I would save the 256 GB SSD and spend the money rather for the Surface Dock.
