Which processor is more recommendable for my purposes: Intel Core i5 or i7?

I have finally decided on a successor model for my decrepit laptop, but there are two different versions: one with an i5 processor and one with an i7.

I will mainly use the notebook for surfing and streaming, so it does not have to be suitable for video games. However, I tend to have up to 20 tabs open at a time, which should not affect performance. Also image processing should be possible, but only hobby.

Is an i5 sufficient or would an i7 be recommended? And how big is the difference in terms of speed / performance really?
