Enough memory for laptop?

I would like to buy a new laptop. The description says: Main memory: 4.0GB DDR4-2400 DDR4 onboard 2400MHz + 4.0GB DDR4-2667 DDR4 SODIMM 2667MHz

Is it enough that it runs fast? What does this '+' mean, do you have a total of 8GB available?

Ra

Presumably it means that two modules are installed. The 2667mhz from the second module are irrelevant, it only runs at the slowest speed. So with 2400mhz and no more!

But yes, you then have 2x4GB = 8GB in dual channel and that is not necessarily wrong. What are you going to do with it? What else has the laptop installed? And am I right that it is needed?

Bi

Yes. 4 plus 4 equals 8.

That has nothing to do with "running fast" alone.

However, I suspect that this is a very old model.

Eg

For a Youtube, surf, school lappi, the thick one is enough!

Li

What is the difference here if there's 8GB right there? Can you use both 4GB normally?

Li

Should be for leisure, school and other. It is not used, is the Lenovo L3 15, here are other details:

Processor: Intel Core i5-10210U Processor (1.60GHz 6MB)
Operating system: Windows 10 Home 64
Display type: 15.6 "FHD LED Backlit AntiGlare 1920 x 1080
Main memory: 4.0GB DDR4-2400 DDR4 onboard 2400MHz + 4.0GB DDR4-2667 DDR4 SODIMM 2667MHz
Mass storage: 512GB SSD PCIe

With a new notebook 2 different ram modules? It doesn't really make sense to me.

But I see it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, it is not suitable for gaming.

Li

I don't mean to, is he good otherwise?

Ra

If you don't mean to gamble with it, yes… I would say at least.

Bi

If there's only 8 GB, then you can only say that it is 8 GB.

If there's 1x 8 GB on the other hand, then it is an 8 GB bar.
