Notebook for college?

My civil engineering degree will start soon. I have a decent PC at home. Do I still need a notebook for the university or are paper and pen, which I personally prefer, completely sufficient?

For the lecture as well as the exercise / seminar you need both: a notebook and paper plus a pencil. Don't buy any notebook before you start studying, but ask older students what they recommend.
