I recently started up my laptop normally and wanted to close an opened window, but my mouse pointer was neither visible nor could I click anything. I don't know how to fix it.
Most laptops have function keys, do you have one that can turn the mouse pad on / off? If so, just press the button and see if it works. If not, try it with a mouse to see if it works.
