I've just bought a new laptop because my old computer has often worried me problems. The only problem I have now my laptop has only a built-in DVD drive installed. I wanted to ask if I can connect my Bluray player from the computer (lg 16x blu ray dvd writer super multi blue), which I bought extra as an external drive to my new laptop. I just do not know how. I tried to use a USB port and the right adapter it does not work. Please, I need your help.

Which adapter did you buy? Is that even compatible? What about the power supply? So a USB port on the laptop delivers only 500mA, I do not know if that is sufficient for an internal Bluray drive. Can it be opened, so does the mechanics work?

If so, then maybe a driver problem. Normally the drive is connected via SATA, not via USB. SATA uses a different protocol, so the same driver can't be used. The adapters are often an external controller that translates SATA to USB. This means you need a driver for the adapter you've got, unless it works "plug and play".

Which OS do you have that?

Does your OS react to a normal CD (not a Video CD)?

Windows 10 has no player software like Windows 7.

Slow again.

You removed an internal BR drive from your PC.

Then you bought an adapter SATA on USB. (Normally you buy an external case for 5 1/4 "optical drives as they contain the same power supply and adapters).

Then you have this adapter connected via USB to your laptop.

How do you power the BT drive? The BT drive 5 1/4 "sucks quite a lot of power.
