I disassembled an old laptop.
The case is still ok but I have no idea what to do with it.
Do you have any ideas?
Can be used as a door wedge. Fun. What can you do with it? Looks like the Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 - MK4, but not that bad.
Give to a museum.
The answer may sound funny, but let's be honest: you can't do anything with it anymore.
Remove the keyboard and grow plants in it. Convert the display as a make-up mirror or let guppies swim in it.
Give him away…
In contrast, my two ancient laptops still look really great.
I still have a Pentium 1 (90MHz) with 32MB Ram, 800x600 (32bit) and Win95 (house brand of "Highscreen"… Who still knows it…).
And a Pentium 4 (3GHz) with 2GB Ram (Fujitsu-Siemens - Amilo), which I still use occasionally. Especially as a reserve for emergencies.
If your "scrap iron" was still technically ok so far, I would have suggested that you possibly remove the inside and plant a RasberryPi 4 with 4GB Ram. There would have been any adapters for the LCD panel and keyboard.
However, I'm not familiar with a Raspi, I only read about it occasionally.
But so I would only give the part as electronic waste.
Who should he "punish" with it?
Correction:
My highscreen P1 only has a 16bit display, i.e. Up to 32,000 colors.
I shot the part in 2000 or 2001 as a used device for only DM 300.
Sorry, you're right.
We have just implemented.
