The following problem: I'm currently looking for 2x 8GB Ram modules with 260Pins for my laptop. Unfortunately, these are hard to find as most gaming PC offerings are 288-pin. My current RAM module is the first picture with the words "Old", and the offer I found is the picture with the words "New 1 & 2". They have exactly the same properties, except that the manufacturer of my current module is called "Micron Technology", according to the CPU-Z app (only specified as "Micron" in the link below) and the manufacturer of the new module is called "CRUCIAL by Micron". Are they the same manufacturers or are they different? I didn't install my current module myself either, it was already inside. The offer comes from Media-Markt, I haven't seen this module anywhere else and I also bought my notebook from Mediamarkt. Would it work if I built this module into my laptop?
And if not, would it work if I buy and insert the same module again, so that I get 16GB of RAM?
The new modules should actually work. Just some information here:
SO-Dimm means that the RAM modules are extra small to fit in laptops. Normal DIMMs are much larger with 288 pins.
Actually, all SO-Dimms DDR4 should match with you: https://geizhals.de/...7E253_8192
Crucial by Micron uses the Micron chips, so it's actually the same.
