Which notebook for gaming and work should I buy?

I'm looking for advice and help from more experienced people when buying a new laptop. Since both my PC and my laptop have now given up so slowly I need a new device.

My budget is +/- 500 euro. I'm a student, so I'd appreciate a lot of disk space and top computing so I do not have to wait forever for Office to open or my engine to program games. My only extra sausage when buying a new laptop: I would also like to use this to play for myself! Sims 4 should be able to run on it.

I've already looked, but I'm not deep enough in the subject, so confuse me the different laptop models with different hardware (Intel Core i3-6006U or rather Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y? And what are those graphics cards?!) enormously.

Even simple tips on which I should pay attention would help a lot.

So the egg-laying Wollmilchsau again.

You can play the Sims 4 with each of these 5 and they are fast enough.

The models are pretty much the same, but the first two have an AMD CPU and the last 3 have an Intel, which is more of a personal preference.

Stronger for the Sims 4 are the first two, longer lasting on battery are probably the last 3

Unfortunately yes. I also know that my claims can't be met. "Either-or" principle.

I'll take a look at your suggestions!
So far everything looks better than what I've found so far… Haha

Generally I would separate gaming and work. A Lapppi for work and a desktop home for gambling. Anything that grumbles gaming on the laptop market is just pure marketing and customer bullying. Devices with which one really can play are in the price ranges around the 2500 euro upwards. Since you can't go with your 500 euro Buget.

If you just buy a laptop with an AMD Ryzen Mobile with Integrated AMD Vega GPU (APU model). I own 2 models in action and am highly satisfied with the devices. The Intel Integrated GRafik (Intel HD Graphics) can bend that is not good for gaming. And the emergency solutions that are thrown abound on the market with Nvidia graphics are power guzzlers and 2 hot heads in the device can be badly cooled.

Just go to AMD Ryzen Mobile and have a look at the models. In the meantime, newer models have already come on the market, because AMD Ryzen with up to 16 cores on Socket AM4 announced in the summer to wait a while because the mobile versions have priority (AMD Ryzen Mobile Series).

Wonderful! Thank you very much!

I will also get a gaming PC again.

I also believe that I expressed myself in a misleading way. Actually, I just want a PC with which I can work well and on which I can play Sims 4 times. GTA V, Metro Exodus, o.a. I do not play on the laptop at all. That would be played on console.

A lot of unreasonable answers here… Well, it gets extremely difficult when it comes to battery life or university and gambling, you'll have read that often enough.

Accordingly, you can always only compromise. Either you do without sims and get for 250 euro a super office device for the university with a durable battery or you are on a compromise from Ryzen APU (from 400 euro) and also have a little gaming power for Sims 4, probably a maximum of 4 -5 hours juice for office at the university.

An Intel processor without a dedicated (additional) graphics card is not enough for Sims 4!

My recommendation:

Disadvantages: Very big for the university, no additional HDD as a data grave, Windows you have to install yourself (Linux installed)

And what nobody has come up with: What does your PC / laptop give up? I think that it lacks only an SSD and a fresh Windows…

My laptop is still from Dell, now 10 years old and has always black desktop, which I can't tackle. Assume that he is now slowly getting old. In addition, this is overly slow and is also very hot. Have already cleaned, also screwed on etc. But the heat has not been greatly reduced. Even when browsing the laptop is very hot. And I do not put the laptop on a pad that blocks the fan.

My PC has regular blue screen. Windows has been rebuilt twice already. The graphics card is no longer compatible or powerful faxing, have repeatedly reinstalled drivers. Be it that the display aufm desktop is extremely distorted (no matter with what settings!), Everything is stuck or the PC is absolutely no longer boot.

Oh and long battery life I do not need urgently! In the university everywhere are sockets, in case of emergency you always have a multiple strip. And otherwise I have during my events eh no laptop outside, but the good old block. The laptop is just for chores, research, video editing, etc. Thought.

Okay I got it.

Well, I think the laptop is probably really slow in the end after all these years. Mine is 8 years old and still runs really well.

You can call times the components of your PC. This somehow sounds like a defective graphics card, if only the defect should be able to replace the relatively cheap, then you can also use the PC for gambling / working.

Otherwise you can grab as written to a notebook with Ryzen 5 2500U APU, which should be just right for you.

I'll take a look. I do not know the components of my PC by heart and I have not touched it for a long time now, after spending hours of trouble and frustration with it. Yes, the GK is definitely broken! Because sometimes it sparks, sometimes it just gives up.
But I also think that my CPU is very bad. Sims 4 jerks very strong. I just read a lot in hardware and now have a bit understood what.

I have a little question:
At times, I use the Thinkpad E335 from a buddy until I've got myself a new laptop. I really feel like playing Sims 4, but Can You Run It tells me that my CPU is too bad. My CPU is AMD E2-2000 APU with Radeon (tm) HD Graphics at 1.75GHz. I have two of them in my laptop. I need an Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 OR AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ (2.0GHz Dual Core required if using integrated graphics).

Is the clocking of my CPU doubled, because I have two in the laptop?
Or am I thinking too easy here? I have not quite understood that yet. Even with googling not.

Th

Under "System" in the Control Panel, the hardware is also listed on the PC.

The 2x refers in this case not to the fact that the CPU is installed twice, but that two cores clock at 1.75 GHz, which one can't add. This is relatively complex, it always depends on the number of cores, the clock rate and on the architecture, only with all three details, one can conclude on the performance.

But the CPU is definitely too weak for that, it will not work. Is one of the weakest ever.

Th

I can recommend this one, the first one is extremely cheap for what he offers, I have already had in my own hands:

Otherwise the two are a bit fancier and lighter:

All with Ryzen APU for Sims.
