Is it morally acceptable to sell my laptop?

I was in the USA as an exchange student and my host father, a very, very generous man gave me a gaming laptop worth around 800 euro two months ago. Meanwhile I'm back in Germany but I noticed that I don't carry the laptop around with me at all. That's why I plan to sell her and build a pc with the money. I had already bought a monitor, keyboard, etc. Anyway.

So here's the question: would it be unethical to do that? Or would it be okay? He would have paid the pc anyway and I would be just as grateful for it

This is probably more acceptable than if you use resources without using them.

Why not he gave it to you is now your property and you don't have to justify yourself, I think that is morally justifiable

Ro

Of course this is justifiable. I recently offered 10,000L of premium gasoline from fire damage, nobody bought it, but that was morally justifiable too.
