Hi, have had this https://www.medion.com/at/shop/p/core-gaming-notebooks-medion-erazer-p6605-intel-core-i5-8300h-windows-10-home-gtx-1050-256-gb-ssd-1-tb-hdd-8-gb-ddr4-ram-backlit-keyboard-core-gaming-notebook-30027056A1?wt_mc=at.pla.bra_per_google.AT%20%7C%20Shopping%20%7C%20Alle%20Produkte%20%7C%20Brand.Alle%20Produkte_*%20/%20Product%20type=%27gaming%27%20/%20Product%20type=%27gaming-notebooks%27 for around a year and would like to know if it is sufficient for smooth gameplay with the Oculus Rift S VR headset?
Of course, I read through the system requirements and think, but since it is a slightly more expensive purchase, I would also like to have an expert opinion.
I'm not an expert, but I'm sure that your laptop will be overwhelmed with the highest possible resolution of the glasses and you should also play with them, otherwise there will be a headache.
I don't think you will have a lot of fun with it in current VR titles, the graphics card is just too weak. In VR, high framrates are particularly important, as otherwise the image will be delayed and nausea will occur quickly. For VR you should already have at least a mid-range gaming graphics card, which is unfortunately not the case here.
I would say: NO
Unfortunately, this is not possible with your system. Unfortunately, it is too weak and VR requires a lot of video memory, which you do not have.
I hope I could open your eyes a little, stay healthy and happy Easter 🐰
It will run.
however you have to reckon with cuts if you want to play bigger games.
for small games (games with little texture are meant) you want to play with the laptop.
what exactly do you want to play with it, then one could help you a little better.
because using vr starts with switching on and that can even be done by an old 750, only when playing it will stop.
So which games do you want to use with the hmd.
p.s. Would I rather recommend a rift cv1 in the specs.
Half Life: Alyx, but don't appreciate it.
Thank you, also wish you Happy Easter.
No That won't work with the graka. At most with a lower resolution, but then it gets so bad from the optics that it is no longer fun. Especially if you can't see through the grain when shooting.
